This course is aimed at delegates who are beginning a career in environmental management and want a solid foundation of environmental and sustainability expertise to build on. 

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

IEMA is the membership body for more than 15,000 environment and sustainability professionals worldwide. Supporting individuals and organisations in setting and achieving globally recognised standards for sustainable practice will, in turn, drive the development and uptake of sustainability skills.

This course will provide delegates with a foundation of environmental and sustainability knowledge to build on. Covering a wide range of environmental, sustainability and governance principles, delegates will gain an understanding of the breadth of the sustainability agenda, and the management tools and skills that they will need when working within this area.

Hybrid learning

We are pleased to advise that the Plymouth training dates for this course can be attended in hybrid format. Delegates can choose either classroom or online attendance and can select the format most convenient for them throughout the duration of course delivery.

Assessment is through a one-hour open book online multiple-choice exam. This exam must be completed within 28 days of the start of the examination period, and delegates must have access to a device with a reliable internet connection. Delegates will receive login details to their registered e-mails prior to the examination period starting, and they are responsible for undertaking the exam in accordance with the IEMA regulations.

Following successful completion of the course and exam, delegates will receive an IEMA certificate. Delegates will also become eligible for Associate membership, giving them the AIEMA suffix and the benefits of IEMA membership. One year’s membership is included as part of the course registration.
