Duty to Manage Asbestos
This course covers an overview of the duty to manage asbestos in non-domestic premises as specified in the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, Regulation 4.
Course Attendees
Any person who requires an overview of the duty to manage asbestos and legislative requirements. This would normally include, but is not limited to duty holder’s assistants, appointed persons assistants, building owners, landlords, sub-let's, managing agents etc. and any person assisting duty holders in the compliance with CAR 2012 Regulation 4.
Course Background
Asbestos is one of the biggest occupational health issues in the UK. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) figures suggest that approximately 5000 people die each year in the UK due to past exposure to asbestos. In excess of six million tonnes of asbestos were imported into the UK prior to it being banned in 1999; much of this still remains.

Training Certification and Assessment
Delegates will be assessed through a multiple-choice assessment. UKATA certification will be provided on successful completion of the training and is valid for one year. UKATA requires annual refresher training for delegates having attended this course.
