Asbestos Awareness
This UKATA course will teach delegates to work safely with asbestos and ensure theirs and their colleagues' safety.
Course Attendees
Training is a mandatory requirement under Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations for all those who are exposed to, are liable to be exposed to asbestos or those who supervise or manage such employees.
This could include, but is not limited to, carpenters, plumbers, heating and ventilation engineers, maintenance workers, cable installers, shopfitters, demolition operatives, construction workers, painters and decorators, architects or surveyors. It does not train you to work with asbestos containing materials (ACM's).
NOTE: This course does not train you to work with Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACMs).
Course Background
Asbestos is one of the biggest occupational health issues and kills around 5000 workers each year, which is more than those who die through road traffic accidents in the UK. However, asbestos is not just a problem of the past. It can be present today in any building built or refurbished before the year 2000.
Asbestos training must be provided to employees whose work could foreseeably expose them to asbestos. This course will teach delegates to work safely in buildings where asbestos may be present.
NOTE: This course does not train you to work with Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACMs).
This course can be combined with the Asbestos Non-Licensed Operative course for a full qualification. Contact our team for more information.
Course Duration
SSG offer this course over a half day as a classroom or virtual course.
Alternatively, we offer this as an e-learning course, which will take approximately two hours to complete.
For e-learning, delegates will be able to check their progress throughout the course using the e-learning checks at the end of each part of the course.
