Asbestos Non-Licensed Operative
This UKATA course will train delegates who will knowingly be working with Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACMs) where that work is not classified as "licensable work with asbestos" (The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012).
Course Attendees
The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 states that ‘every employer shall train those of his employees who are, or who are liable to be, exposed to asbestos or those who supervise or manage such employees’.
This could include, but not be limited to, carpenters, plumbers, maintenance workers, cable installers (phone, computer, alarms), shop fitters, demolition operatives, painters and decorators, architects or surveyors.
NOTE: Delegates attending this course must have completed a half-day asbestos awareness session within six months prior to attending this course and must be able to provide a copy of their UKATA certificate.
Course Background
Asbestos is one of the biggest occupational health issues and kills around 5000 workers each year, which is more than those who die through road traffic accidents in the UK. However, asbestos is not just a problem of the past. It can be present today in any building built or refurbished before the year 2000.
This course can be combined with the Asbestos Awareness course for a full qualification. Contact our team for more information.
