IEMA Pathways to Net Zero

This course focuses on ways to support the national aim of achieving net zero by giving clear, consistent guidance on best practice in response to the climate crisis.

Course Attendees

This course is aimed at supervisors and managers across all sectors or those who might be:

  • Responsible for developing a net zero approach (or other carbon reduction strategy) for their organisation
  • Supporting and existing net zero strategy
  • An environmental / sustainability specialist with net zero as a new responsibility
  • Responsible for communicating or helping to communicate an organisation’s net zero approach
  • Responsible for decarbonising a particular part of an organisation e.g. supply chain, business travel, estates etc.

Whilst there are no formal entry requirements for this course, it is preferable that candidates are in a practicing role which will allow them to deeply understand the areas explored over the duration of the course.

Course Background

The aim of this course is to focus on ways to support the national aim of achieving net zero by giving clear, consistent guidance on best practice in response to the climate crisis. It also provides supervisors and leaders with a strategic and operational overview of environmental sustainability as it affects their specific industry and work area.

IEMA is the membership body for more than 18,500 environment and sustainability professionals worldwide. Supporting individuals and organisations in setting and achieving globally recognised standards for sustainable practice will, in turn, drive the development and uptake of sustainability skills.

Training Certification and Assessment

Delegates will be assessed through an online 20 question multiple-choice test. This is completed through the IEMA assessment portal and candidates are sent a link upon registration to the assessment. On successful completion of the course, delegates will receive an IEMA certificate.
