Course Background
Our working safely at heights course introduces learners to the essential principles of safe practice when working above ground level. It covers common hazards, the legal duties of employers and employees, the hierarchy of control, safe use of access equipment and the importance of effective emergency planning. Whether you work directly at height or are responsible for managing those who do, understanding these fundamentals is vital for preventing harm and promoting a safe working environment.
As part of our modern learning approach, this qualification is available through interactive e-learning, designed to increase engagement, flexibility and learner confidence. Our digital platform supports active learning through scenario-based activities, short knowledge checks, multimedia content and tutor-supported forums. Course Duration
We offer this as a flexible e-learning course, allowing delegates to study anytime, anywhere and at a pace that suits them.
Delegates will be given a three-month licence from first access to complete the course. Once this licence expires, delegates will be required to pay a fee to reactivate it and should contact our Customer Service Team for more information.
Course Programme
On completion of this course, learners should be able to:
Identify common hazards and risk factors associated with working at height, including unstable equipment, fragile surfaces and falling material
List the key legal duties of employers and employees under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Work at Height Regulations 2005
Describe how to plan and carry out work at height safely using the hierarchy of control
Outline basic precautions for using common equipment like ladders, scaffolds and platforms
State what to do if conditions change or an emergency occurs while working at height
Training Certification and Assessment
Successful delegates will receive an SSG training certificate, which is valid for three years.
