Gender pay gap reporting
Published Feb 25, 2022
Organisations are legally required by the Equality Act 2010 to provide equal pay to both men and women if their duties and the work they do is the same or broadly similar.
The Equality Act 2010 (Gender Pay Gap Information Regulations 2017) requires employers with a headcount of 250 or more to report a ‘snapshot’ of their gender pay data.
Deadlines for reporting
The next deadlines are:
- 30th March 2022 – for most public authority employers
- 4th April 2022 – for private, voluntary and all other public authority employers
What you need to report
Employers need to report the:
- percentage of men and women in each hourly pay quarter
- average hourly gender pay gap
- percentage of men and women who received bonus pay
- average gender bonus pay gap
- person in their organisation who is responsible for the data
- link to their written statement if their organisation is reporting as a private, voluntary or other public authority employer
It is recommended that employers with a headcount of less than 250 also conduct a similar analysis, although there is no legal requirement to submit a report.
