Forty percent of workers say they’re not trained properly for their jobs
Published Feb 25, 2022
According to HR Review, findings from a report by Digits, the learning management software provider “Are we trained for work?” spoke to more than 1,000 respondents and identified that more than half of those surveyed said they received no training and development from their employer last year, while nearly a fifth had not been part of any training initiatives since 2018.
The report suggests that an organisation’s learning and development initiatives matter because they are seen to add value to not just existing employees, but the next hires, too.
Nearly a third of workers polled say they wouldn’t apply for a job with an employer that doesn’t invest in training. Around the same number say they have, or would, leave a job if an employer changed or stopped its learning and development initiatives.
