Course Attendees

This course is suitable for those who don’t use towers themselves, such as site managers, safety professionals and company directors. It is also aimed at those responsible for managing people who use mobile access towers, ensuring work is properly planned and organised and that those involved in carrying out the work are competent.

Literacy, fitness and health requirements (extract from PASMA Code of Practice)

Since the safe use of mobile access towers requires delegates to consult safety notices and read, and thoroughly understand, the manufacturer’s instruction manual, literacy and language comprehension are important requirements for any tower use.

If delegates have any problems with literacy or language comprehension, they must bring this to the attention of their employer.

Course Background

There erection, use and dismantling of mobile access towers is potentially extremely dangerous if the correct safe working procedures are not followed. To comply with Work at Height regulations, you must be competent to supervise work on towers. This course will equip delegates with the specialist knowledge needed to keep towers an accident-free zone.

Through a combination of theory and group exercises, delegates will learn what to look for from the ground – before, during and after work begins.

NOTE: There is no practical work involved in this course, it is purely classroom-based theory.

Course Duration

SSG offer this course over one day as a classroom course.
