SSG Training and Consultancy provides QHSE and HREL services to a range of organisations, across a variety of industry sectors including construction and allied services, manufacturing, retail, energy, agriculture, tourism, food and catering, education, events and facilities management.
Location
This position is based at our head office in Plymouth.
The role involves:
To lead and manage the marketing function during the maternity leave of the current postholder.
The Marketing Manager will ensure continuity of strategic and operational marketing activity, support the team’s professional development, and contribute to business growth through effective campaign delivery and cross-department collaboration.
They will also be expected to provide high levels of customer service, ensuring our clients receive a service that is professional, caring and friendly at all times.
General management duties:
Lead and support the marketing team to maintain productivity, creativity and morale during the maternity cover period.
Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, manage Personal Development Plans (PDPs) and support team members with coaching and mentoring. Proactively manage performance and wellbeing of the team.
Provide motivation and foster a collaborative and positive team culture.
Manage the recruitment and onboarding process if new team members are required during the maternity cover period.
Support ongoing team training and development, including product updates.
Lead in the day-to-day activities carried out by the team, including room set up and other business critical activities.
Marketing strategy and campaign management:
Oversee the planning, execution and evaluation of marketing campaigns targeted at both internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure consistency and quality across all marketing materials and communications.
Monitor and report on campaign performance against KPIs.
Liaise closely with the Sales Manager and Head of Growth to identify and act on opportunities for business growth and brand development.
Ensure all marketing activity aligns with business objectives and enhances the organisation’s profile.
Ensure all marketing data is legally compliant and maintained according to current regulations (e.g. GDPR).
Oversee data cleansing routines and optimise the use of customer data in campaign planning and delivery.
Track and manage the marketing budget in collaboration with senior leadership.
Qualifications, experience and skills:
Degree or equivalent in Marketing, Business or related fields.
Minimum 2-5 years’ experience leading or managing a marketing team.
Minimum 1 years’ experience working with Google AdWords and SEO.
Previous experience with e-marketing software such as MailChimp.
High level quality control and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels.
Fluency in Microsoft Office - Word / Excel / Outlook / SharePoint / Teams / Planner.
Working knowledge of Adobe suites including Illustrator and InDesign desirable.
Ability to remain calm under pressure, adapt and handle challenging situations.
Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to develop and maintain cooperative and supportive relationships and communication channels with members of the SSG team.
