Who are we?

SSG Training and Consultancy provides QHSE and HREL services to a range of organisations, across a variety of industry sectors, including construction and allied services, manufacturing, retail, energy, agriculture, tourism, food and catering, education, events and facilities management.

Location

This position is based at our head office in Plymouth.

The role

As a Key Client Manager, you will build strong relationships with our top-spending clients, ensuring their needs are always met. Additionally, you will apply your sales skills generating new business, leading strategic sales campaigns and making the making the most of every business development opportunity.

Account Management

  • Look after a portfolio of top-spending customers, ensuring their training and consultancy needs are met.

  • Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers.

  • Identify opportunities for service improvements and proactively seek feedback.

Sales

  • Maximise opportunities for sales arising from your key accounts.

  • Identify opportunities for growth within your portfolio.

  • Carry out business development activities with a focus on medium and large organisations (30+ staff).

  • Undertake prospecting / cold calling to generate new business.

  • Participate and/or lead sales drives identified by the Marketing and Leadership teams.

  • Lead / attend sales meetings with senior decision-makers of large organisations.

  • Achieve sales targets.

  • Up- and cross- sell across our full range of services.

  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with your colleagues in the technical and customer service teams.

Administration

  • Process training and consultancy bookings on our internal booking system.

  • Generate complex service proposals, consulting with internal experts as and when required.

  • Update and input records of all contact made on the CRM system.

  • Run training reports for clients.

  • Produce training matrix for clients.

  • Monitor and follow GDPR requirements in regard to record-keeping and confidentiality.

  • Assist with tender completion.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Proven experience in a sales and customer service role.

  • The confidence to work professionally with senior decision-makers, establishing a level of trust from the start.

  • The ability to self-manage a demanding workload whilst remaining focused on the task in hand.

  • The ability to act as an effective team player with drive, energy and passion to motivate self and fellow team members.

  • Proven experience in an administration role, competent in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal - and attention to detail.

  • General ability to understand the bigger impact on the business and identify opportunities for growth, innovation and improvement.
