SSG Training and Consultancy provides QHSE and HREL services to a range of organisations, across a variety of industry sectors including construction and allied services, manufacturing, retail, energy, agriculture, tourism, food and catering, education, events and facilities management.

Location

This position is based at our head office in Plymouth.

The role involves:

As a Customer Service and Sales Advisor, you are the primary point of contact for first time and infrequent customers, taking bookings and developing relationships. Every customer counts and you will utilise your outstanding sales and customer service skills to maximise opportunities and ensure every booking is processed with care and attention.

Customer Service:

  • Deliver friendly, professional and consistent customer service in line with SSG’s values

  • Ask thoughtful and relevant questions to fully understand each customer’s needs

  • Proactively anticipate customer expectations and stive to exceed them with expert advice

  • Maintain strong, up-to-date knowledge of all SSG products and services

  • Confidently up-sell and cross-sell across the full range of services where appropriate

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues in both the technical and customer service teams

  • Handle complaints professionally, aiming to resolve issues positively and turn them into opportunities

  • Maintain regular contact with a portfolio of existing clients via phone and email to build long-term relationships

Sales:

  • Proactively maximise every inbound and outbound call as an opportunity to generate value and drive sales

  • Consistently meet and aim to exceed individual and team call performance targets

  • Actively engage with sales campaigns and initiatives developed by the marketing and leadership teams

  • Collaborate closely with all team members to deliver a seamless customer experience and support business growth

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a strong desire to work collaboratively in a high-performing team with a growth mindset

  • Has excellent administrative and IT skills, with attention to detail

  • Is a confident, clear communicator with a positive and proactive attitude

  • Has the ability to manage a busy workload independently while delivering exceptional customer

  • Has a keen eye for identifying opportunities to enhance the client experience and improve service delivery
