I took the first aid at work refresher course at SSG in mid-2009. I was a little apprehensive on signup because it cost more than many of the local colleges seemingly offering the identical course. It turned out to be a great experience; the standard of instruction was very high, the professionalism evident all around, and the out-of-town location and on-site parking a boon. Best of all, appetising lunches were included, allowing time to socialise with course mates, and avoiding the need to rush off site or bring your own. In terms of value for money and reduced stress, SSG can’t be beaten.
The training was thought provoking and the use of video was good
Tutor made course easy to understand and not as boring as I thought it was going to be. Related certain risks to my military environment which helped. - (Risk Assessment Workshop - Miles Redhead)
The course was a personal choice to change Career, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It exceeded any expectations I did have and thoroughly enjoyed all aspects. Both Tutors were excellent in their delivery of learning and response to questions.
(NEBOSH General - Miles Redhead and Gemma McDonald)
It was extremely interesting, I learnt a lot and Gemma was very helpful, kind and knowledgeable.
(IOSH Working Safely - Gemma McDonald)
Brilliant professional training as always Derek. Thank you.
(First Aid at Work Refresher - Derek Paul)
Not the most interesting of subjects but Paul did very well at engaging us and not just going off the powerpoint (Working Safely at Heights, Paul Widnall)
It helped that the tutor had good knowledge of the waste industry - very good presentation and content. (IOSH Managing Safely)
Interesting, thorough and well explained!
(Safe Use of Hoist - Richard Bird)
Both tutors were good. Full of life and a credit to SSG!
