Representatives of Employee Safety
The Health and Safety (Consultation with Employees) Regulations 1996 require that employers consult with employees on matters relating to their health and safety at work. Where there are no Union Safety Representatives employees can either consult with each individual employee, or establish a system of Representatives of Employee Safety (ROES). The duties of the ROES are to represent the workforce, help develop practical solutions to health and safety problems, investigate accidents and assist in inspections and risk assessments.

Who Should Attend?
Employers must provide the ROES with adequate training to enable them to fulfil their duties. This course is aimed at employees who have been elected ROES. There are no pre-requisites for delegates attending this training course however a basic knowledge of general health and safety would be an advantage.
