Training employees in workplace health and safety is a key factor to ensuring a safe work environment. SSG can report that despite the recent economic downturn and the associated pressures experienced by employers, health and safety management and employee training remains a priority in the Westcountry.
Over the past 12 months high profile safety management training courses such as the NEBOSH National General Certificate and the IOSH Managing Safely have seen record attendance levels at SSG. This highlights the commitment of local firms to safety management. NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) and IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health), are both leading independent awarding bodies attracting thousands of candidates internationally each year.
In December, over 30 candidates attended NEBOSH Courses at SSG. Delegates received record pass rates including 5 distinctions and 10 credits. Dr. Michael Cash, SSG Operations Director, is thrilled by this latest set of grades; ’Over the past few years our Nebosh results have reached levels high above the national average. Our teams work hard to continually improve course administration, delivery and materials. We do our best to provide the highest standard of training.
