Focus of the Queen’s speech was firmly placed on Brexit, giving us a broad outlook on things to come.
In terms of HR, the most pressing issue will obviously be the rights and responsibilities of foreign nationals in the country and, as you may have heard, negotiations on this have now commenced.
Also, the introduction of 15 new T-levels will ensure that technical education is now an option for school leavers wishing to pursue as less academic route. Qualifications will reach from level 2 to 7.
Reference was made to closing the gender pay gap and ensuring fair and equal working conditions, but union officials have voiced concerns over the vagueness of the government agenda on issues such as zero hour contracts, national living wage and race pay gap.
