  • Date: Tuesday 25th April 2017

SSG are delighted to announce that Operations Director Dr. Michael Cash has been appointed the Chair of the IOSH Construction Group. The position of Chair will be passed from Paul Haxell who has held the role since May 2014.

Michael has long been a Chartered Fellow of IOSH and held the title of Vice Chair prior to his new position.

As Chair of the committee Michael will be leading the delivery the IOSH strategy to members and companies in the Construction Group, addressing the concerns and issues of the membership and ultimately raising the profile of IOSH in the construction sector. He will also contribute to projects such as IOSH events, webinars, research and the development of guidance and resources.

Aside from his work with IOSH and SSG, he dedicates time to working with schools in the community; raising awareness of practical risk assessments and the positive contribution of safety management. Michael completed a PhD in Engineering at Cambridge University and worked in engineering prior to moving into Safety Management. This enabled him to work throughout America and Europe on management system and safety case projects.

The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) is the world’s largest professional safety membership organisation and has over 60 000 members worldwide.
