One Step Closer - OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001 Transition
- Date: Tuesday 26th April 2016
The long awaited world standard ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety (OHS) has finally reached Draft International Standard (DIS) stage.
The project committee ISO/PC 283, Occupational health and safety management systems, worked directly with 70 countries to develop this crucial document, with the British Standards Institution (BSI) serving as the committee secretariat.
"Wide adoption of ISO 45001 should reduce the horror stories in the media of poor OHS management leading to loss of life, injury and large-scale disasters, as seen in the factory buildings around the world." says David Smith, Chair of the committee.
