Three things to do this month – May 2015
- Date: Friday 29th May 2015
- Prepare for the abolishment of the counterpart driving license on the 8th June. You will need to review your policies and procedures and request a copy of the electronic record for employees who drive on company business (please see article above).
- Plan for summer holidays. Many employers have a first-come-first-served rule for holiday allocation. However, last minute requests can really cause problems for both the employer and the employee; ensure that employees book holidays giving plenty of notice. Also be mindful of employees who may struggle to arrange childcare during their children's holidays.
- Set a budget for staff rewards. When budgeting at the beginning of the financial year employers often neglect to consider the impact a small reward can make. By budgeting for the occasional box of chocolates or bottle of bubbly you are visibly committing to driving forward performance through reward.
