New Roads and Streetworks Act Assessments

UK law requires that there must be a qualified Operative present under the supervision of a qualified Supervisor in most cases of excavation or reinstatement on public roads or footpaths . This course enables either experienced Supervisors or Operatives to be assessed to City & Guilds 6156.

 This course covers the following modules:

Operative modules

  • 001 - Location and avoidance of underground apparatus
  • 002 - Signing, lighting and guarding- can be completed separately
  • 003 - Excavation in the highway
  • 004 - Re-instatement and compaction of backfill materials
  • 005 - Re-instatement of sub-base and road base in non-bituminous materials
  • 006 - Re-instatement in cold-lay bituminous materials
  • 009 - Re-instatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways

Supervisor Modules

  • 001 - Location and Avoidance of Underground Apparatus
  • 010 - Monitoring of Signing, Lighting and Guarding
  • 011 - Monitoring Excavation in the Highway
  • 012 - Monitoring of Reinstatement and Compaction of Backfill Materials
  • 013 - Monitoring of Reinstatement of Sub-Base and Road Base in Non-Bituminous Material
  • 014 - Monitoring of Reinstatement in Bituminous Materials
  • 015 - Monitoring of Re-instatement in hot-lay bituminous materials
  • 016 - Monitoring of Modular Surfaces and Concrete Footways

Course Delivery Options

The fee per operative delegate is £650.00 plus VAT.  The fee per supervisor delegate is £625.00 plus VAT.
