Asbestos: Working With Non-Licensed Products
SSG is a UKATA registered member
Asbestos is one of the biggest occupational health issues. Estimated figures suggest that by the year 2018 up to 9000 people per year will die through exposure to asbestos fibres.
The control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 states that ‘every employer shall train those of his employees who are, or who are liable to be exposed to Asbestos or those who supervise/manage employees’. This could include but not be limited to carpenters, plumbers, heating and ventilation engineers, maintenance workers cable installers (phone, computer, alarms), shop fitters demolition operatives, construction workers, painters and decorators, architects or surveyors.
The morning session will cover the asbestos awareness syllabus, whilst the afternoon session continues with the working with unlicensed asbestos products syllabus. Those who have attended the asbestos awareness course within the last 12 months could request the half day working with non-licensed products only.
Course can include optional 'face fit' exercise.
