SSG are currently involved in Health and Safety Case development for Shell in an offshore oilfield development project. Kashagan, in the Caspian Sea, has been described as the largest oil field found in the last 30 years.
SSG consultants are leading the Safety Case development initially focusing on Land logistics and moving on to materials handling, marine transport and construction activities as the project progresses. The job presents significant challenges including the protection of shallow nature reserves, impacts on local populations and residents along with technical issues such as the construction of rock islands from which drilling and production will be centered.
